So just what is the Curriculum?

Originally derived from the Latin word "currere", meaning "to run", curriculum can be translated as "the course to be run".

But that's just literally....curriculum has been interpreted in many ways by many people. Take a look at some of these definitions:
  1. the subjects comprising a course of study in a school
  2. the body of knowledge, skills and understanding that a society wishes to pass on to its children
  3. all the learning planned or guided by the school, either inside or outside of the school
  4. all the learning that goes on in schools whether it is expressly planned and intended or a by-product of a teachers practice

Which one is right? Is there a 'right' answer?
